How to use Flipbook

To open the Flipbook, click on Go from the resource’s thumbnail.

Once you have the Flipbook open, you can navigate through the pages by: 

  1. Using the scrolling wheel of your mouse or laptop (if it has one). Scrolling down will move forward through the pages. Scrolling up will move backwards.
  2. Use the backwards and forwards arrows on the Portal webpage.

At the bottom of the Flipbook, there are some resource management tools:

In order in which they appear above, these include:

1. Zoom option

You can adjust the screen size either by: 

  • Click the Zoom button from the bottom menu.

  • Double-click anywhere within the Flipbook. It will automatically zoom in once, then you can either use the advanced zoom options at the top of the screen, or use the scrolling wheel on your mouse or laptop to continue to zoom in further.

  • Right-click within the Flipbook to bring up a quick-menu and select Zoom In from the options.

2. Thumbnails 

By selecting the Thumbnails feature, you can get a quick view of what the resource looks like. This is helpful if you know what the page looks like but cannot remember the exact page number it is on.

3. Auto Flip 

If you turn on Auto Flip, pages will turn automatically every 4 seconds.

4. Page Management 

In the middle of the tools bar, is the page management area, where you can skip to the very first or last page. 

You can also go forwards or backwards one page at a time or enter a specific page number you want to be taken to.

 

5. Full Screen 

Click on this to go between full screen and normal mode. Full screen is handy when you are presenting the material to students using a projector or monitor.

6. Print

Flipbooks are available to download. You can specify which pages you want to print before printing.
